Devin Harris (jammed big left toe) and Chandler Parsons (right knee soreness) were improving on Tuesday but have been ruled out of the Dallas Mavericks’ regular-season finale Wednesday against Portland.
Harris suffered his injury in the second quarter Monday at Utah. X-rays showed no structural damage and he was optimistic he would be able to play in Game 1.
Carlisle said the timing was unfortunate but that playing late-season games involve the same risks with injuries as at any other time of the year.
“Injuries can happen at any time,” he said. “You don’t go into a game thinking about not getting hurt.
