NEW YORK — After seeing their ageless superstar return to practice Saturday following a three-game hiatus with right Achilles soreness, the Dallas Mavericks hope to have 13-time All-Star Dirk Nowitzki in the lineup at some point during their current road trip on the East Coast.
Traveling to the Big Apple for an early-season matchup against the star-studded New York Knicks, the Mavericks (2-6) will try to rebound from a 116-95 loss on the road to the Golden State Warriors last Wednesday. The Mavs will also continue to play shorthanded with starting point guard Deron Williams (left calf strain) and veteran guard Devin Harris (right great toe sprain) already ruled out of Monday’s matchup.
