Game 8: Mavs at Warriors

SAN FRANCISCO — Leaning on their prized offseason signing to deliver back-to-back wins in the last two games, the Dallas Mavericks now hope versatile forward Harrison Barnes can continue to rise to the occasion Wednesday night against his former team.

Producing a career-high 34 points and eight rebounds last Friday night in an 86-75 overtime win over Milwaukee, the 24-year-old Barnes led the Mavericks (2-5) to their first win of the season. He followed that up with his third 30-point game of the 2016-17 campaign Tuesday in Los Angeles, scoring 31 points on 11-of-18 shooting to led five Mavericks in double figures during a 109-97 victory over the new-look Lakers.
