DALLAS — Locked in a three-team battle for the final two playoff positions in the Western Conference standings, the Dallas Mavericks return home for a pivotal matchup Wednesday night against the rival Houston Rockets.
Despite playing with their fair share of injuries, the Mavericks (39-38) appear to be surging up the standings at just the right time while riding a four-game winning streak into Wednesday’s Southwest Division showdown. They also sit just a full game ahead of the Rockets (38-39) in the standings following Houston’s 118-110 home win Sunday against Oklahoma City. And with plenty on the line for both teams, the season series finale should further renew the in-state rivalry.
