DALLAS — Dropping four straight games to begin the season for the first time since the 67-win 2006-07 campaign, the Dallas Mavericks return home in need of a lift from their own crowd Friday night against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Falling to 0-4 after Wednesday’s 97-81 loss in Utah, the Mavericks return to American Airlines Center still in search of their first victory of the season. The Mavs could also find themselves playing without a few of their top contributors, entering Friday’s matchup with both 13-time All-Star Dirk Nowitzki (right Achilles soreness) and starting point guard Deron Williams (right adductor strain) listed as questionable.
