DALLAS — After producing a career-best scoring output the last time he faced the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks swingman Wesley Matthews will look for an encore performance Saturday night at American Airlines Center.
Scoring a career-high 36 points on 12 of 23 from the field, Matthews led the Mavericks (13-10) to a 116-104 road win in the nation’s capital on Sunday. He also connected on 10 of 17 from behind the three-point arc to set a new career-best mark for makes from long range, tying George McCloud’s franchise record in the process.
He’ll now look for another big night against the Washington defense as the scene shifts to Dallas, leading the Mavs into action Saturday night in the second outing of a three-game homestand.
