DALLAS — After seeing his teammates rally for a win in overtime on the road against his former squad, swingman Wesley Matthews hopes the Dallas Mavericks can keep the momentum going as they return home.
Rallying from a double-digit deficit late in the fourth quarter to push the game into an extra period following 13-time All-Star Dirk Nowitzki’s tip-in with 6.0 seconds left, the Mavericks (11-8) left Portland with a hard-fought 115-112 win in overtime. In the process, Matthews got the better of his former team with 18 points in his return to Portland after spending the previous five seasons with the Trail Blazers prior to signing with the Mavs this summer during free agency.
