DALLAS — After beginning the regular season with a heartbreaking 130-121 overtime loss on the road Wednesday in Indiana, the Dallas Mavericks will try to send a message to a familiar foe two nights later at home.
Facing the Southwest Division rival Houston Rockets at American Airlines Center in the first of four regular-season meetings Friday night, the Mavericks(0-1) will quickly attempt to learn from their season-opening loss. The Mavs will also try to begin a home-and-home series that concludes Sunday in Houston with a win. And after rallying back from a 14-point hole to force Wednesday’s game into overtime before eventually running out of steam, the Mavs will try to put together a better four quarters in front of their own fans.
