SAN ANTONIO — After sliding to 2-10 on the season while continuing to play without several of their top contributors, matters certainly don’t get any easier for the Dallas Mavericks as they travel to San Antonio for Monday night’s matchup against their Southwest Division rival.
Falling to a hard-fought 95-87 defeat Saturday night in Orlando to conclude a difficult back-to-back, the Mavericks suffered their fifth straight loss to continue a sluggish start to the 2016-17 season. The Mavericks also continued to play with a shorthanded roster, taking the floor once again without 13-time Dirk Nowitzki (right Achilles strain), starting floor general Deron Williams (left calf strain) and veteran guards J.
