HOUSTON — While he is anxious to return to the court after missing the final six games of the regular season, Dallas Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons says he is more focused on helping his team seize Game 1 of its first-round playoff series and less concerned with playing against his former team.
Spending his first three seasons in the NBA with the Houston Rockets, Parsons then found himself on the other side of the Southwest Division rivalry this summer after signing with the Mavericks (0-0) in free agency. Still, as the versatile forward is quick to point out, Saturday’s Game 1 in the first-round series is less about making a return to the Toyota Center and more so about stealing away the home-court advantage from the division-winning Rockets (0-0) in the two-versus-seven matchup.
