DALLAS — Although his team would eventually suffer an 89-82 overtime loss to Italy in the group stage of EuroBasket 2015, it didn’t stop Dallas Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki from making history yet again Wednesday in Berlin, Germany.
Recording a double-double in the German national team’s defeat, Nowitzki finished with 14 points on just 4-of-13 shooting, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out two assists to boot. In the process, Nowitzki passed Greece’s Nikos Galis (1,030) to become the No. 2 scorer in EuroBasket history, adding to a career resume that also features him as the No. 7 scorer in the NBA annals.
