DALLAS — Despite seeing the Dallas Mavericks take North Carolina State freshman point guard Dennis Smith Jr. with the ninth overall selection in last week’s NBA Draft, 26-year-old combo guard Seth Curry says he doesn’t see his role with the team changing next year after a breakthrough 2016-17 season.
Last season, Curry put up career-high numbers across the board, averaging 12.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 29.0 minutes per outing while starting 42 times during his 70 games. He then saw his season come to an abrupt end due to a left shoulder injury that forced him to miss the team’s final seven games.
