Deron Williams' left calf continues to give him problems and he now is unlikely to play Monday in New York, coach Rick Carlisle said.
"He had a bit of a setback (Thursday) working out," Carlisle said. "So he's going to be a little longer than hoped. There's no timetable.I'd say he's most likely out for New York. And Boston's probably a long shot."
Williams already has missed three games with the left calf strain.
Meanwhile, Dirk Nowitzki was excused from practice on Friday for a personal matter. His wife, Jessica, is due to give birth to the couple's third child.
