Former Oklahoma State and Texas A&M-Commerce standout Darrell Williams, “I’m just thankful for the opportunity,” said Williams, a Chicago native. “Now I’ve got to make the most of it.” Williams, 25, was a starter at Oklahoma State until February of 2011 when he was charged, and later convicted, of sexual battery and rape by instrumentation. The conviction later was dropped through the help of Williams’ new attorneys and Chicago’s Innocence Project, but Williams went 33 months between playing college basketball games until he resurfaced last season at A&M-Commerce.
