Everyone loves seeing jersey retirement. Fans get to see a great halftime presentation while the honoree sees his jersey go up into the rafters and become forever immortal. It’s always those times where you would tear up.
The same thing actually happened last season, when Derek Harper was given the same opportunity. On January 7, in a game against the New York Knicks (coincidentally another team Harper played for), we saw as Brad Davis and Rolando Blackman announced another player would join them as the only honored who have seen their jersey retired by the Dallas Mavericks.
