Dallas guard-forward Nicolas Brussino showed flashes of his potential at the end of the regular season and during summer league play.
It apparently wasn’t enough.
The Mavericks waived the 6-foot-8 Brussinno on Thursday.
Brussino averaged 2.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 9.7 minutes in 54 games (two starts) with Dallas as a rookie. He had 18 points, five rebounds and three steals in a quarterfinal win over Boston in the Las Vegas summer league tournament.
Brussino played on the Argentina Olympic team last summer.
The Mavericks are stacked with young talent and might have found another sleeper or two during the two summer league tournaments.
