The Dallas Mavericks are off to a 2-1 start to the 2015-16 NBA season, defeating the Phoenix Suns opening night and the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. The team’s loss to the Clippers sandwiched between those victories was tough to watch, but easier to swallow when the fact that the Mavericks were extremely shorthanded against a very good team is taken in to account.
All things considered the first week of games was mostly positive. Injured stars are back in the lineup sooner than many expected, Dirk Nowitzki looks as fresh as a 37-year old conceivably could, and the Mavericks are getting nice contributions from some somewhat surprising sources.
