In the game against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, Deron Williams was called for a technical foul a few minutes into the 3rd quarter. This was the first technical of the season for Williams which is impressive considering the fact that he has received an average of 4.5 technical fouls per season over the last 10 years.
So why is this a big enough deal to write about?
According to Coach Rick Carlisle, “For the first time in a 33-year NBA career, I saw a referee make a point of going out of his way and walking into our huddle and baiting one of our guys into getting a technical.
