Dallas Mavericks fans are in for a nerve-wracking evening on Tuesday. The annual NBA Draft lottery takes place, and the Mavs have a significant amount riding on the event.
Dallas traded their 2019 first round pick to the Atlanta Hawks as part of the Luka Doncic deal last summer. They made it top-five protected, though. That means the Mavericks need to move into the top four to keep their pick. Dallas has a 26.3 percent chance of retaining their first rounder.
They also have a 6.0 percent at the first overall selection and the rights to draft Zion Williamson.
