The Dallas Mavericks have relied on Dwight Powell for a lot this season. He missed most of training camp and the first three regular season games with a hamstring injury. Since returning, Powell has started 37 of 40 contests. His energy and effort stand out. Powell is one of the best rim rollers in the NBA. The Mavs are better with him on the floor.
That is why Tuesday’s game against the LA Clippers quickly turned disappointing. Powell went down late in the first quarter and had to be helped off the floor.
