Dallas Mavericks: Dwight Powell (hamstring) out remainder of preseason

Dallas Mavericks fans had penciled in Dwight Powell as the team’s starting center this season. He played phenomenally at the end of last year as a starter. Powell averaged 14.7 points and 7.6 rebounds in 30.9 minutes per over his final 22 games. The 28-year-old also got a contract extension this summer.

Those plans may be in the process of changing, though. Powell suffered a hamstring injury during practice on Oct. 5. He missed the team’s first two preseason games already.

The Mavs were set to play their first home game on Oct.
