The Dallas Mavericks bench is one of the strongest second units in the league thanks in large part to all of these guys having played with each other for a few years. The development of Dorian Finney-Smith and Maxi Kleber has paired nicely with the veteran leadership of J.J. Barea and Devin Harris to make a strong foursome. Dwight Powell is just the glue that holds the group together.
When the Mavericks got Powell in the awful Rajon Rondo trade, he appeared to be just a filler player in the deal. Now, Powell appears to be maybe the best player involved in the deal.
