The Dallas Mavericks have missed Dwight Powell for the last 24 games before the suspension in play. The 28-year-old tore his Achilles in the first quarter on Jan. 21 against the LA Clippers. He subsequently had surgery and was ruled out for the rest of the season.
Powell has been attacking his rehab with the same work ethic that vaulted him from a second round pick to the full-time starter. The 6’10 big man is hoping to be back on the court by the opening night of the 2020-2021 season. Time will tell if he can reach that goal.
