The Dallas Mavericks traded up to draft Luka Doncic with the third overall pick. Experts gushed over his ball handling and playmaking ability at his size. They touted his accomplishments including winning EuroLeague MVP at age 19. It was not all positive reviews, though.
Plenty criticized his athletic ability. They even went as far as to say he would be a draft bust because of it. Doncic has had professional success, but they questioned the translation to the NBA.
