The Dallas Mavericks used their lone 2019 draft pick on Isaiah Roby. They traded down to 45th overall to select the 21-year-old forward. Dallas had their sights set on Roby the entire time, though.
Last season, Roby started all 35 games for the University of Nebraska. He produced 11.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.9 blocks in 31.2 minutes per game. The Mavs were intrigued by his defensive and playmaking potential.
Roby’s first professional action came in the Las Vegas Summer League. He played five games during the event. Roby produced 8.
