The Mavericks finished the season 42-40 as the 6th seed in the Western Conference before falling in the first round of the playoffs to the Oklahoma City Thunder. After many predicted the Mavericks to miss the playoffs all together, Dallas surprised everyone and finished better than what many imagined.
With a cast full of veterans headlined by Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas looked to build on chemistry and leadership while the biggest hope was placed in health. Headlined by the injury recoveries of Wesley Matthews and Chandler Parsons, Dallas dealt with a plethora of health problems all throughout the year.
