The Dallas Mavericks saw head coach Rick Carlisle resign on June 17. It came just one day after general manager and president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson parted ways with the franchise. Carlisle was the Mavs coach for 13 seasons, including during their 2011 championship run. He is one of the best tactical coaches in the league. Carlisle’s in-game adjustments stand out as did his ability to maximize his roster.
The Mavericks have two important hires to make before arguably the biggest offseason in franchise history begins.
