The Dallas Mavericks brought in Australia-native Ryan Broekhoff this offseason. He has spent his entire professional basketball career playing over in Europe. Similar to Mavs teammates Salah Mejri and Maxi Kleber, Broekhoff will do his best to break into an NBA rotation as a “veteran rookie” of sorts.
The 28-year-old was heralded by some experts as the best pure shooter outside of the NBA, and that skill will be much needed on a team that might struggle in that area as a whole. Broekhoff will be asked immediately to help fill the void left by former Maverick marksmen Doug McDermott, Seth Curry, and Yogi Ferrell who all walked this summer in free agency.
