Chandler Parsons underwent a "minor hybrid" microfracture surgery in May from which he's currently recovering, ESPN Dallas' Tim MacMahon reported on Sunday evening.
The surgery was in the "best possible spot", a source told MacMahon, because the injury occurred in a non-weight bearing spot of his knee. It was not a traditional microfracture surgery, which is a more severe surgery that would keep Parsons out for a longer duration.
The Mavericks were unclear about the surgery, which Parsons underwent on May 1. Parsons has not been cleared yet for training camp, which begins on Tuesday.
