BOSTON – Jayson Tatum scored 31 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a 106-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night at TD Garden. With the victory, the Celtics won their NBA-record 18th championship.
The loss ended the season for the Mavs, who lost this best-of-seven series to the Celtics, 4-1. The Mavs were hoping to piggy-back off last Friday’s 122-84 win over the Celtics, but they just didn’t have enough juice in their offense to counteract what Boston had going for itself.
