CLEVELAND – Max Strus connected on an improbable three-pointer from 59 feet at the buzzer as the Cleveland Cavaliers stunned the Dallas Mavericks, 121-119, Tuesday night at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
The loss dropped the Mavs to 33-25 going into Wednesday night’s game in Toronto, while the Cavs improved to 38-19.
The heave by Strus came right after the Mavs had taken a 119-118 lead on a basket by P.J. Washington via an assist from Luka Donu010diu0107 with just 2.6 seconds remaining. The Cavs had no timeouts left, then inbounded the ball to Strus, who simply fired it towards the basket and drilled it as time expired.
