Last season the Dallas Mavericks set an NBA record for sporting the most efficient offense in league history with 115.8 points per 100 possessions.
But coach Rick Carlisle expects that record to be left in the dust this season and beyond.
“I’ve been taking note of all this stuff during the year,” Carlisle said prior to Sunday’s 121-107 loss to the Sacramento Kings. “I think these records are going to go down on a yearly basis as players become more and more skilled.
“Now the (centers) are shooting the ball with distances, as you’ve seen with our team and a lot of other teams.
