CHICAGO – Trailing by eight points with less than three minutes remaining in Monday’s game against he Chicago Bulls, the Dallas Mavericks almost pulled off a miracle.
But a desperation 3-pointer near halfcourt by Luka Doncic at the buzzer barely missed its mark and the Bulls escaped with a 109-107 victory before a United Center crowd of 18,407.
The loss dropped the Mavs to 37-25 as they ended this week-long four-game road trip with a 2-2 record.
The Mavs, who were outscored by the Bulls 33-17 in the third quarter, now open a three-game home stand on Wednesday against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans.
