Brunson, Finney-Smith and newcomers help Mavs defeat Timberwolves, 114-102

Jalen Brunson and Dorian Finney-Smith combined for 47 points and 11 assists, and the shorthanded Dallas Mavericks scratched out a 114-102 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night at American Airlines Center.

Brunson finished with 26 points and six assists, and Finney-Smith contributed 19 points and five assists and the Mavs moved to 15-15 and past the Timberwolves and into eighth place in the Western Conference. Minnesota dropped to 15-16.

Also for the Mavs, Dwight Powell had 15 points and eight rebounds, Sterling Brown contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Boban Marjanovic added 10 points.
