Brandan Wright was terrific as the first big man off the bench for the Mavericks, and since losing him in the trade for Rajon Rondo Dallas has been searching for a competent replacement.
It didn’t happen during the season – Greg Smith, Dwight Powell, Bernard James, and Amar’e Stoudemire just couldn’t fill the void left behind by the über-efficient Wright.
But with the offseason rolling around and the former lottery pick becoming a free agent the thought was that the Mavericks could make a run at making a reunion happen.
