Jim Thome is one of eight MLB players to hit at least 600 home runs in a career. It also just so happens, however, that Thome struck out more times in his career than all but one player in the history of the entire sport. That player is Reggie Jackson.
Both Thome and Jackson played more than 20 seasons in MLB, despite striking out at almost comical rates. For almost half his career, Thome would strike out at least one out of every four times to the plate, which goes against all sorts of baseball logic. Put the ball in play, dude.
