As bad as the injury situation has been for the Mavericks, they actually have been pretty lucky.
Twice.
First, they dodged a huge bullet when J.J. Barea went down last month. What many thought had all the signs of a torn Achilles turned out to be a calf strain, and Barea could be back in a week or so.
Now, Andrew Bogut hyperextended his right knee Monday against Charlotte. Anytime the knee bends in a way it's not intended to, there's a fear of a torn ligament.
The Mavericks got news Tuesday that Bogut suffered a bone bruise when he was bowled over by Roy Hibbert and went sprawling, clutching his right knee.
