Another chance to win, another disappointment as Mavericks lose at Utah, 120-116

Jason Kidd said he would withhold judgment on his team until Christmas.

His belief is that you need that much time to get a grasp on exactly what the Mavericks are.

So on Santa’s big day, he deferred again, citing the circumstances of the last few weeks.

Injuries and COVID-19 issues have temporarily derailed whatever it is that the Mavericks are going to be.

As it turns out, the Christmas game in Utah reinforced the need to hold off on making any proclamations.

The Mavericks played hard, played well and were knotted with Utah, one of the Western Conference’s best teams, going into the fourth quarter.
