After Mark Cuban issues challenge, Harrison Barnes delivers a career night and Mavericks' first win

An hour before the Mavericks put a pitchfork into their season-opening losing streak, Mark Cuban was going down his wish list for what he wanted from his team.

The No. 1 priority was to get Harrison Barnes rolling.

“He hasn’t been aggressive enough,” the owner said. “Everybody’s trying to find their role. I mean, he’s been good. But there are times that he’s still deferring.”

Not anymore.

Barnes rolled up 34 points, cracking his career high for the second time in six games this season as the Mavericks displayed supreme defensive grit and were able to grind out an 86-75 overtime win against the Milwaukee Bucks.
