SALT LAKE CITY — Clinching a playoff berth for the 15th time in 16 seasons Monday following a 101-92 road win in Utah, the Dallas Mavericks will now turn their focus to moving up the Western Conference standings in the regular-season finale Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs.
Rallying together after having their six-game winning streak ended with a 98-91 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, the Mavericks (42-39) didn’t leave their playoff chances in doubt the following night in the final road game of the season. The Mavs also assured themselves at least the seventh seed in the West playoff picture, locking up a winning season in the process after a victory in a hostile environment.
