The Washington Wizards and Dallas Mavericks are currently in talks about a potential sign-and-trade which would land Mavs free agent big man DeJuan Blair in D.C.
Here's ESPN's Marc Stein with the scoop:
Washington and Dallas are in advanced discussions on a potential sign-and-trade deal that would land DeJuan Blair with Wizards

According to Stein, the Wizards see Blair as a potentially integral piece going forward regardless of whether they acquire him via trade or in free agency:
Wiz have strong DeJuan Blair interest and, according to ESPN sources, in talks to see if sign-&-trade possible before Mavs must renounce him

After spending four seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, Blair played just one season with the Mavs - averaging 6.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in just 15.6 minutes per game. He provided unyielding physicality for Dallas off the bench, which is the same attribute which makes him so invaluable to the Wizards.
