Report: Chandler Parsons to Mavs on three-year deal, Rockets won't match

The Dallas Mavericks have reportedly secured restricted free agent forward Chandler Parsons on a three-year, $46 million deal, as the Houston Rockets will decline to match Dallas' offer sheet.

Here's Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski with the scoop:

Per Wojnarowski, after securing Washington Wizards swingman on a four-year deal, the Houston Rockets felt that Parsons' price tag would be too limiting for the team from a financial perspective heading into the future:

With Parsons now locked down, the Dallas Mavericks have an imposing front line consisting of Dirk Nowitzki, Parsons, and recently-acquired Tyson Chandler. Parsons blossomed in his third and final year with the Rockets, posting career highs in points (16.6), rebounds (5.0), and assists (4.0) per game.

At just 25 years of age, Dallas management hopes that impressive production projects a superstar turn for the young forward over the next few years.
