In today's Mavs rumors surrounding the chaos of Miami Heat superstar LeBron James' free agency, the Dallas Mavericks might be putting the rest of their work during this 2014 NBA free agency period on hold until they get a clear word as to James' intentions in regard to his professional future.
According to Cindy Boren of the Washington Post, "James has had a subterranean profile since opting out of his Miami Heat contract on June 24, preferring to vacation while his Cleveland-based agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, talks to teams. And Paul has been busy, meeting (via ESPN) with the Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Cleveland Cavaliers."
With an exploratory meetup with Paul now out of the way, the Dallas Mavericks, according to Adrian Wojarowski of Yahoo! Sports, could be waiting for the potential go-ahead to speak with James one-on-one:
Teams awaiting direction today from agent if Miami's LeBron James will proceed to free agent meetings this week, league sources tell Yahoo.

With a multitude of recent reports indicating that New York Knicks free agent Carmelo Anthony has potentially narrowed his focus down to the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers, it makes perfect sense that the Mavericks are turning their attentions towards James - especially if he begins to lean towards testing his options after what has been an underwhelming offseason so far for Pat Riley and the Heat when it comes to their dealings in free agency.
