After the Dallas Mavericks were outmuscled down low in Tuesday night's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Mavs could very well start looking around to find Tyson Chandler help in the interior.
Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News posits veteran Jermaine O'Neal as a potential option going forward for the club, provided O'Neal wants to come back and play this year.
Per Sefko, "that’s one name that is out there. And there are a few others in the mix. No move appears imminent, but rest assured the Mavericks are considering their options."
Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol's paint display on Tuesday will at least has Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle's attention.
“We got to continuously work at doing better against big, physical teams,” Carlisle said. “It’s a big challenge. There’s no doubt about it. They got the better of us in there. It’s going to be an ongoing challenge that we just got to take.”
Adding another big man down low like O'Neal could be part of the solution if the Mavs decide to seriously attack the free agent market.
