Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley will enter restricted free agency this July, and one of his former teammates in Houston is doing his very best to woo him towards joining the Dallas Mavericks.
“I hear from Chandler (Parsons) every day,” Beverley told the Houston Chronicle recently. “It’s hard, but I try not to think about it. I can’t talk about contracts. It’s going to be a fun summer. I have put myself in a position to be set for life and that’s something that I never thought was possible growing up.”
Dallas is in the market for a point guard of Beverley's ilk, but his price tag could be too much for a Mavs team that already splurged on Parsons' multi-year deal last offseason. However, that doesn't mean that Parsons won't try.
“I have a lot of good relationships with a lot of guys," Parsons said wryly back in April about his potential recruiting efforts for the Mavs.
