The Dallas Mavericks have announced a minor roster move, assigning SG Ricky Ledo to the Texas Legends of the NBA Developmental League.
Ledo is a second-year shooting guard out of Providence College - the 43rd overall pick in the 2013 draft, Ledo has been assigned to the Legends several times over his NBA career to date. Ledo has played in just two games for the Mavericks so far this year, averaging just over a minute per contest.
The Mavericks like Ledo as a prospect, but he still has a lot of developing to do. At Providence, Ledo never played a single game in his sole season there due to eligibility issues, and he still has quite a bit of adjusting to do if he's going to contribute valuable minutes at the NBA level. Mavs coach Rick Carlisle is making the most of the team's link with the Legends to get Ledo the playing time he needs, and you can expect to see him assigned there more regularly now that Dallas has expanded their guard rotation to include recent arrival Rajon Rondo.
