The Dallas Cowboys surprisingly hold the No. 4 overall pick in the NFL Draft after a disastrous season that was ruined by multiple injuries, but it also gives them the chance to add a major contributor that can make an immediate impact. Here are the three players they're targeting with that pick:
3) Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State Buckeyes
Elliott might be a bit of a reach at No. 4 because of the value you can get for a Derrick Henry-type back in the second round, but the Cowboys are very high on him for good reason. He's the most complete back to come out of college in years, matchup incredible speed and elusiveness with vision and power. Plus, he's an exellent receiver out of the backfield, making him the now rare three-down back.
2) Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State Buckeyes
Bosa is second on Dallas' board, but if the Chargers draft Ramsey at No. 3, they'll be more than happy to "settle" for the talented pass rusher. It fills a major need at defensive end, where only DeMarcus Lawrence is a safe bet - and he is facing a suspension. Bosa won't be a superstar, but he'll be a starting DE for years.
1) Jalen Ramsey, CB/S, Florida State Seminoles
Secondary is a huge, huge need for the Cowboys, and Ramsey is the kind of game-breaking player who can be a star. Versatile enough to play either cornerback or safety, Ramsey is excellent in converage (thanks to his quickness and physicality) and has tremendous ball awareness, but he's also a sure and willing tackler who loves making plays in the run game. Fixing Dallas' biggest weakness is priority No. 1, and Ramsey does that and then some.
