CeeDee Lamb’s refusal to participate in the Cowboys’ mandatory minicamp this week is an undeniable bummer. The star receiver is holding out for a new contract, but this is hardly new territory in Dallas. Just a year ago, we went through the same thing with Zack Martin and it all worked out just fine.
Lamb is entering his fifth season and, as a former first-round pick, is scheduled to play on the fifth-year option from his original contract. It’s given him a significant raise from about $4.5 million last year to $18 million in 2024, but still only half the market value for elite NFL receivers.
