The Dallas Cowboys offseason as been an odd one. Not only did they decide to retain Mike McCarthy with one year remaining on his contract, but they also brought in Mike Zimmer to replace Dan Quinn as the new defensive coordinator this season on a one-year deal. Because of that, both of their futures beyond this season is up in the air.
The lack of stability for the coaching staff beyond this year could be part of the reason why the Cowboys were abnormally inactive in free agency. Other than signing LB Eric Kendricks as a free agent, they stood pat and just re-signed a few of their own.
