OXNARD, Calif. - Third-string quarterback Zac Dysert suffered a herniated disc as he was reaching for something, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said, unceremoniously ending his season just days into training camp.
Dysert returned on Wednesday to Dallas and was expected to undergo surgery Thursday. His season-ending injury leaves the Cowboys with three quarterbacks with a month of training camp and five preseason games still ahead. They could always add another quarterback to a room that includes Dak Prescott, backup Kellen Moore and undrafted rookie free agent Cooper Rush.
"We've had a lot of different discussions on that," Garrett said.
